Associate Scientist, Chemist

Ensemble Therapeutics Corporation is conducting original research aimed at identifying novel macrocyclic therapeutic agents using a proprietary DNA-programmed chemistry technology. Currently we are seeking a highly motivated and skilled synthetic organic chemist to join its medicinal chemistry team.

Responsibilities will include:

• Design of multi-step syntheses of novel macrocycles
• The use of solid-phase and solution chemistry techniques to successfully prepare macrocyclic compounds
• As necessary, the work may also include the design and synthesis of bioconjugates of oligonucleotides and small organic molecules.
• The thorough purification and characterization of the synthetic products.
• Accurate and comprehensive recording of experimental work and presentation of results to colleagues within the company.

Education/Experience:

This position requires a talented chemist with a sound knowledge of organic chemistry including thorough experience with modern methods for purification and characterization of organic or bioorganic molecules. Prior oligonucleotide or peptide experience would be highly advantageous but not essential.

Requirements:

• A bachelors degree in organic chemistry with 1-3 years of relevant industrial experience
• A record of success in the execution of new synthetic routes, application of these approaches to the total synthesis of novel molecules
• Experience of routine compound purification using preparative hplc techniques
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• The ability to function in a dynamic and interdisciplinary team
