Scientist, Cell Biology

Ensemble Therapeutics is developing novel classes of therapeutics (Ensemblins™) and diagnostics using its proprietary chemistry platforms. Ensemble Therapeutics is using DNA-Programmed Chemistry™ (DPC™) to discover drug candidates against historically challenging targets such as protein-protein interactions, phosphatases, and proteases. DNA-Programmed Chemistry™ ( DPC™) is a patented method employing DNA to control chemical reactions. Every chemical reactant and product is identified by a specific DNA tag.

Job Description:
Reporting into the Senior Director of Cell Biology, this person will be responsible for developing, testing and routinely executing a number of in vitro and cellular biological assays.  The position requires a highly motivated  and independent research scientist with a spirit of scientific inquiry to support the development of novel therapeutic compounds.

Relevant skills:
The ideal candidate will:

  • Show the ability to carry out consistently high quality science, as indicated by successful completion of cell biology projects requiring quantitative analysis of cellular constituents and statistical/computational analysis of data.
  • Have experience in mammalian cell culture, and in analyzing mammalian cells for protein and RNA expression.  Western blotting and immunoassay experience is also necessary.
  • Experience with affinity chromatography is a plus.  Experience with screening and characterizing inhibitors of cellular pathways is also a plus.
  • Demonstrate a high level of initiative in performing experiments, particularly when projects encounter significant challenges, and the ability to propose and pursue solutions to technical problems.
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, as the candidate will take an active laboratory role as a team member in drug discovery projects.
  • The candidate must be flexible, and be adept at multitasking as well as comfortable working in a fast-paced and challenging matrix discovery environment.
